Music

At Roskear School, children have opportunities to engage in music lessons in a variety of ways.

We love singing assemblies, and enjoy singing a wide range of songs every week.

The choir is an important part of life at Roskear School, as well as being a big part of the Roskear community. We have been to many of the local homes and community establishments to sing and look forward to doing more of this throughout the year.

This year we are introducing signing with our songs and look forward to being able to share this with the other children.

Mrs Lagdon (EYFS teacher/Deputy Headteacher) hosts a recorder club for Years 2-4 as an after school club where the children learn to play a variety of fun and interesting songs.

Ukulele has been taught throughout the school in KS2, with the opportunity for private lessons for small groups by a specialist teacher which also involves the children playing at community events. This is run by the Cornwall Music Hub.
